Sacraments

Sacred Moments. God’s Grace Made Visible.

The sacraments are a central part of our life together at St. Paul’s. Through ordinary things - water, bread, wine, oil, touch, and prayer—we experience God’s presence and grace in tangible ways.

They mark beginnings, nourish our faith, bring healing and reconciliation, celebrate love and vocation, and remind us that God is present in every season of life.

Whether you are exploring a sacrament for yourself or someone you love, we welcome your questions.

Baptism

A beginning in faith.

Through Baptism, we become part of the Body of Christ and the community of the Church. With water and prayer, we celebrate new life in Christ and our call to love God, serve our neighbors, seek justice, and respect the dignity of every person. If you would like to talk to someone about being baptized, please contact Fr. Jarred.

Eucharist

Gathered around one table.

In the Eucharist, or Holy Communion, we gather around bread and wine in thanksgiving and experience Christ’s presence among us. Together, we are nourished and renewed in our faith, united as one community, and reminded that all are welcomed as part of the family of Christ.

Confession

Forgiveness, reconciliation, and a new beginning.

Confession, also known as Reconciliation, offers a private and sacred space to bring what weighs on us before God. In the presence of a priest, we can experience God’s forgiveness, receive pastoral guidance, and find freedom to begin again.

Personal confession is available to everyone and is always confidential.

Interested in learning more or making a confession? Contact Fr. Jarred.

Confirmation

Strengthened in faith.

Confirmation is an opportunity to affirm the promises made at Baptism and deepen your commitment to a life of faith. Through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop, we ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen and guide you in following Christ and serving others.

Interested in Confirmation? Contact Fr. Jarred to learn more.

Holy Matrimony

Celebrating a life of love together. In Holy Matrimony, two people make a lifelong covenant of love and companionship before God and the community. Considering a wedding at St. Paul’s? Contact Fr. Jarred or our Parish Administrator, Becc O’Brien, to learn more about getting married at St. Paul’s.

Ordination

Called to a life of service.

Ordination, or Holy Orders, is the sacrament through which deacons, priests, and bishops are called to serve God and the Church. Through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop, they are set apart for lives of ministry, leadership, and service.

Anointing of the Sick

Prayer, presence, and healing.

The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing offered through prayer, the laying on of hands, and anointing with oil. It offers God’s grace, comfort, and strength to those experiencing illness, facing surgery, nearing the end of life, or seeking a sense of healing and wholeness.

Communion and prayer may also be offered to those who are sick or unable to attend church.

If you or someone you love would like to receive the sacrament of anointing, please contact Fr. Jarred.
